The Non-Electric is our most popular composting toilet. ItÆs perfect for many of our customers living off-the-grid and not wanting to be dependent on their inverters. The N.E. uses the same body as the standard Excel, but with a larger 4-inch vent that exits straight out the top, and no fan or heater. The tremendous aeration and mixing action of the Bio-Drum, coupled with the help of a 4-inch vent pipe and the heat from the compost, creates a ôChimneyö effect that draws air through the system in a manner similar to that of a woodstove, In full-time residential use, an optional vent stack fan is recommended to improve capacity, aeration, and evaporation.
