Being on the leading edge of the PV industry, Real Goods encourages the move toward safer, code-approved equipment. Although code-approved equipment can often be more costly, we feel when weighed together with safety factors it is a small price to pay for insurance. The continuing move toward inverters running more and more of the household loads has reduced our selection of DC load centers. We find that a simple six-circuit center will handle the DC fusing needs for 99% of the systems. The six-circuit center meets all safety standards and utilizes only UL-listed components. All current-handling devices have been UL-approved for 12-volt through 48-volt DC applications. These DC circuit breakers require a main fuse inline before the breakers to provide catastrophic overload protection. If you already have a large Class T fuse for your inverter it can be used for this protection. If not, you must use the 110-Amp Class T Fuse Block on the input. USA.
