BioLet strongly recommends using their own mulch for starting and ongoing maintenance, rather than commercial peat moss. We're increasingly finding that commercial peat moss has been ground almost to dust, and has very little structure or ability to open air channels. This leads to poor composting and material clumping.BioLet's mulch is specially formulated for composting toilets. It has more tiny air channels, speeds composting by introducing oxygen, and resists clumping.
